Alongside a virtual cohort of Oregon primary care providers (doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses), participants will learn to:
- Identify the signs of child physical abuse, including types of bruises/skin injuries, abdominal injuries, burns, sentinel injuries, head trauma, and fractures.
- Conduct an exam and identify patient and familial history elements that are concerning for child physical abuse.
- Understand the roles and responsibilities associated with Oregon’s county-based Designated Medical Providers and Children’s Advocacy Centers, Karly’s Law, the Oregon Child Abuse Hotline, and Child Protective Services when there are concerns of abuse.
ACCREDITATION: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of OHSU School of Medicine and Oregon Child Abuse Solutions. The OHSU School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

This pilot program is designed to improve autism assessment wait times by training primary care providers (MD, DO, ND, and PA) in screening, identification, and evaluation of young children with suspected autism. Upon completion of this free training, PCPs will be trained in using the DSM-5 Parent Interview and the Screening Tool for Autism in Toddlers and Young Children (STAT™) and be able to evaluate children 18-47 months who meet validated inclusion criteria.

Affirming and Informed: An Interactive Education Series for Pediatric Gender Affirming Care in April
Hosted by Doernbecher Gender Clinic
The training series consists of asynchronous web-based modules designed to provide foundational knowledge about the social, emotional, physical, and mental health needs of gender diverse youth. The modules will provide specific skills-based content around prescribing medications, suicide prevention, and working with families.
After completing the web-based training, participants will attend a live, virtual half-day session on Thursday, April 18 from 1-4pm. This will be delivered by gender clinic providers and will focus on case-based learning to help integrate skills and knowledge gained during the online modules.
5.75 CE credits will be available upon completion. Accreditation: The School of Medicine, Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
