James Bishara, MD, MBA, is a Salem-based pediatric cardiologist and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at OHSU School of Medicine. He moved from Louisiana several years ago, is our AAP chapter e-cigarette champion, and has testified to the legislature as part of the OPS Advocacy Committee. Dr. Bishara completed his MBA this summer.

Bertha Kao, MD, MBA, trained in neonatology, managed a Washington County Providence urgent care facility for many years, and recently returned to primary care pediatrics in Tigard. Dr. Kao is active on the OPS Advocacy Committee.

Ellie Millan, PNP, is a pediatric nurse practitioner and the Pediatric Medical Director for Mosaic Medical, which is a FQHC located throughout Central Oregon. She is the first PNP and OPS Associate Member to hold a board seat.

Paul Mitchell, MD, is a PGY-2 resident at OHSU. He participated in OPS legislative advocacy this year, and is an AAP District co-representative for OHSU. Dr. Mitchell is the first resident to serve on the OPS board.

Zach Spoehr-Labutta, MD, is a pediatrician at Grande Ronde Hospital in La Grande. Dr. Spoehr-Labutta has been in Oregon for about two years, and was active in his Florida chapter before this. He is a dedicated advocate for his patients and families in rural Eastern Oregon with elected officials and the media.

OPS thanks all the board member applicants. We welcome these new voting board directors and appreciate the energy, talents, and diverse perspectives they bring to OPS leadership. Their terms will begin in September 2021.
