Through contracts with the Oregon Health Authority, the Oregon Pediatric Society has developed and delivered in-person and online professional education about behavioral health and suicide prevention since 2013. In fall 2020, OPS developed Youth SAVE, a suicide screening, assessment, safety planning and intervention virtual training program for child and youth-serving healthcare professionals.

Learning Objectives

- Increased understanding of the importance of universal screening for suicide risk.
- Familiarization with the most common means of death by suicide and how to assess risk based on the feasibility and lethality of method.
- Improved comfort with using safety plans to intervene with youth experiencing thoughts of suicide.
Format
Each booster training session includes 1.5 hours of virtual learning. Participants may attend any or all of these sessions for CME.
