“You got a real hero in your midst in Dr. [Lauren] Herbert,” Senator Ron Wyden told the Eugene Register-Guard . “Had we not had her, I really fear for what would have been the consequence.”

This praise from the Oregon Senator came after his recent trip to the US-Mexico border with Dr. Herbert. While in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, the team met a woman, 38 weeks pregnant, suffering from medical complications. Dr. Herbert and Sen. Wyden helped her claim asylum to seek urgent care at a hospital in Texas.
