OPS Member Kate Ballard on Oregon’s New Prescription Translation Law
One-in-five emergency room visits are due to misunderstanding medication instructions. Starting Jan. 1, 2021, Oregon pharmacies are required to address this critical safety issue by providing prescription bottle labels in multiple languages. OPS member Kate Ballard, a pediatric nurse at OHSU, advocated for this law.
