OPS Names Dr. Alanna Braun as Vice President

The Oregon Pediatric Society board has elected Alanna Braun, MD, FAAP, as OPS’s new Vice President. Dr. Braun has worked at Oregon Health and Science University’s Doernbecher Children’s Hospital since November 2018; previously she was a pediatrician at Hillsboro Pediatric Clinic.

At OPS, Dr. Braun serves as co-chair of the Advocacy Committee and is a member of the Quality Improvement Committee. She is also the HPV content expert for OPS’s ECHO Project to help pediatric clinics improve QI skills and self-efficacy around HPV vaccination. As part of this project, she has worked with other AAP chapters and staff and is featured in an OPS video on addressing vaccine hesitancy through motivational interviewing.

Dr. Braun earned her M.D. from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta Georgia. In 2013, she completed a pediatrics residency in Oakland, California, at the Children’s Hospital and Research Center.  Her previous experience includes working in rural community health as part of the National Health Service Corps. Her clinical interests include adolescent health, working with children with developmental concerns, and environmental health.

Thank you, Dr. Braun, for your chapter leadership and advocacy for kids.
