| The Oregon Pediatric Society is heartbroken by the shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend. We grieve with the families who lost a child or loved one, and we hold close the students, educators, and first responders whose lives were changed.
To the pediatricians, nurses, and providers in Central Oregon caring for children and families: we are with you. Children everywhere may have questions and big feelings in the coming days. In times like this, pediatric providers often become a steady source of support for children and families. We are sharing a list of resources to help our members and the families they serve through this hard time. We invite you to use and share them as needed. AAP HealthyChildren.org Parenting Resources

| No child should be afraid to go to school. This is unacceptable in our community; this is unacceptable in all communities. As pediatric providers, we know gun violence is preventable. We will keep working with families, communities, legislators, and government officials across Oregon to keep children safe.
Want to get involved? We invite our members to join our Advocacy Committee, because change happens when pediatricians stand together and speak up for children. |
