Image for OPS Board Message About Leadership Transition

Julie Scholz, Oregon Pediatric Society’s long-time Executive Director, has announced that she will be stepping down from her role at the end of this year. Over the past decade, nearly everyone who has engaged with OPS has felt Julie’s remarkable influence.

When Julie began, OPS was a very different organization. Throughout her tenure, she guided the society’s financial, advocacy, programmatic, membership, board, and communications growth, through numerous conferences, CME trainings, Lobby Days, meetings, emails, and successfully completed funding applications. Julie and her team left their mark on nearly every OPS initiative, shaping the organization into what it is today. Without her dedication, the past decade would have looked very different.

At the end of the year, we will bid Julie a bittersweet farewell and celebrate her extraordinary contributions. The search for our next Executive Director is underway, and that individual will truly have big shoes to fill. We invite you to help us identify qualified candidates. Share this job posting.

As many of you know, this is a challenging time for nonprofits and healthcare. Yet with challenge comes opportunity. We are confident that the right leader will help OPS adapt, thrive, and continue advancing our mission as we enter the next chapter.

Those of us who have had the privilege of working with Julie will deeply miss her professionalism, vision, and leadership. On behalf of OPS, I want to express our sincere gratitude for her dedication and lasting impact.

Thank you, Julie.
